Welcome to IASEP -
Indiana Assessment System of Educational Proficiencies

IASEP is a comprehensive alternate assessment system for Indiana students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. As an alternate assessment, it is designed for Indiana students for whom all other state assessments are inappropriate even with accommodations.

The assessment includes Indiana academic standards for grades K-3 in language arts and mathematics as well as proficiencies in four non-academic domain areas: personal adjustment, social adjustment, recreation and leisure, vocational experience.

IASEP consists of two interrelated sets of information: (1) teacher ratings of standards and proficiencies using a 5-point rubric, and (2) supportive evidence for those ratings.

IASEP is available to districts across Indiana at no cost.
